Here We Go….

We’re going.

We are really going.

We told Troy and Joyce last night. I gave each of the children a gift bag with clues: s’mores fixin’s (for the campfire sing a long with Chip and Dale), sandals (for the warm weather), luggage tags, customized maps, autograph books, and a flyer for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It took them a few minutes, but they figured it out – well Troy figured it out, and then thought we were teasing him…. But now they are almost as excited as their mama.

If you’ve been reading along, you know we’ve been planning this for a while. This is a big deal. I wouldn’t have dreamed of attempting Disney last year with Mary. But now, right now, she is healthy, engaged and tall enough for most of the rides! ;). I’ve never planned for anything so carefully and thoroughly. I have researched every “quiet” spot in the park, I have temporary tattoos with my phone number on them and a locating device with tags that attach to the kids. Each day is mapped and planned out, so we can have a “schedule…..” This has turned into a bigger undertaking than just your average family vacation. Disney World with autism requires preparedness.

We are ready.

We are going.

We leave in 36 hours!

You won’t hear from me for a bit. We will be driving down this week, staying at Disney for 9 glorious days, and home again before the polls close. I promise pictures when we get back. I really have to get back to packing! Good night!

Oh I am SO excited for you. Disney is a magical place for kids. I am so glad we lived just 2 hours away when ours were really little. Your memories will last a lifetime! 🙂

Yay! So excited for all of you! I live the temporary tattoos! That’s great. And with your research and preparedness, you should do just fine. We can’t prepare for everything, but it certainly does not hurt to try! Have fun!!!
